RE: Car wash n' wax or RV wash n' wax?

I have the duratain finish on my 5ver and they way to not use any wax of any kind for 5 years. Looks and feels like it was just waxed always. I have always used a car wash and wax on my other units.

We will be visiting the kite festival in Long Beach Washington next week. Does anyone have any suggestions? We are staying at the KOA in Bay Center.

RE: Squealing noise from power centre

Is there a water bottle or such like that has expanded due to rising temp and causing a tiny whistle-squeeling noise?

RE: Bay City, Washington KOA

Yes it is Bay Center. On my GPS I find it listed as Bay Center Road, South Bend. It should be within driving distance of the Kite Festival in Longbeach during that week. Not many sites open then.

RE: E-Z Lube wheel bearing maintenance

If you place your jack under the frame either in front or behind the axels and lift your trailer in the manner described by some, you have placed one tremendous amount of stress on about a two inch or less surface (the top of the jack) Lets say your rig weighs 10,000# and there is 1/4 of the weight on the jack. that would be about 2500# on less than 3 square inches of surface on a piece of channel iron that was not designed to withstand this amount of stress. It appears that much damage could be done, besides having to lift it up six inches or so to compensate for the spring movement. I always (I think I am correct) place the jack under the plate under the axle where the u-bolts fasten. This is a heaver piece of steel and you only have to lift about 2-3 inches to have the wheel off the ground. .02 worth of my thoughts.

RE: Old and Forgetful

For about $100 the sewer solution would be a solution to your forgotten sewer dump problem. This unit will move the stuff you "moved" something like 60 feet and even up hill 3 feet. We love ours. Never had any problems with it since we purchased it about 4 years ago.

RE: Made WIFE happy!!!

My DW is a fan of the silpat liner thing. Never any burnt buns, cookies or anything like that. It only weighs a ounce or so and really works perfect without any problem.

RE: What is a good truck and ratio for towing?

Our 04, F-250, V-10, 3.73 towed our 28' Wildwood up the Coke with plenty of power to spare. Combined weight of 19,000+ pounds. Yup, that section of highway can seperate the men from the boys.

RE: Happy Birthday British Columbia

Beautiful warm sunny day in Langley. Just staying home and doing nothing and not feeling guilty about it. Staying off the highways and campgrounds to enjoy peace and quiet.

RE: Sumas WA Border Crossing

The Aldergrove crossing is usually less busy, and in Lynden just 5 miles south of the border is the Hidden Village RV park. A nice little place, we keep our 5ver stored there. Tune your radio to 1130 and every ten minutes on the one they give traffic reports which includes the border crossing times. Seattle will be more of a nightmare than usual with the Seafare and the blue angels in town this weekend. I understand that I-90 will be closed around noon time as the angels perform.

RE: What the ...?

Since there was a passing lane were you trying to pass in a no passing area? Some of these responses certainly show what kind of people are members of this forum and the responses indicate some are not even polite in any way shape or form.

RE: Pick up the new 5er tomorrow...getting nervous

To answer your question, I put the truck in drive, stepped on the gas and away we went with no problems except a nervous stomach. Only challenges were the off tracking being greater than tt.

RE: Travel to Canada

I assume you have a work permit for Canada? A passport is not needed for land travel at this time.

RE: Dump Station Rules?

Were you looking at your watch, tapping your toe, or giving him the impression you were in a hurry? Did you move up to the 4 feet after waiting for 15 minutes? Were you standing next to his "dump?" Were you gunning your engine? If not, as has been mentioned just chock it up to a guy who was unhappy about his own life and felt the need to try and pass his irritation on to someone else. Unfortunately life is full of unhappy people, even campers. Who knows, maybe he ate too many prunes for breakfast.
